The Jelq Exercise

The word (and technique) is rumored to have various Arabic origins (from the word “milking”); other sources claim the technique has its roots in tribal Africa; however, still other sources claim that it was an American invention and these rumors are simply rumors or propaganda meant to sell jelqing instructions.

Jelqing is a technique intended to enlarge the penis by increasing the blood pressure in the penis, with the goal of permanently increasing the maximum erect size of the penis. This technique, also called “milking”, involves wrapping the thumb and index finger around the penis while semi-erect and repeatedly drawing them away from one’s body to force blood into the glans, thus encouraging more vascularity in the corpus cavernosa and associated tissues.

Caution:

Jelqing is inherently dangerous, and even if done correctly can cause injuries, from irritated skin and burst blood vessels to scarring and impaired penile function, including partial loss of erectile function and inability to maintain an erection. It should not be attempted by anyone without a complete understanding of the risks involved.
Jelqing will often increase the size of the flaccid penis in the short-term after only a few sessions, but substantial gains to maximum erect penis size supposedly take a month or more to develop. This technique is not recommended by the medical community.

How to Perform the Jelq

Jelquing should be done nearly every day in order to keep your Corpora Cavernosa in perfect shape. You can occasionally take a couple of days off but be sure that it’s never more than two (2) days in a row or else you may start to experience a loss of what you’ve gained. With a partially erect penis you’ll be grasping the bottom or base of your penis with your forefinger and thumb, like an “OK” sign. By doing this you’re trapping the blood held inside your penis and preventing it from flowing back into your groin. Be sure to grasp all the way around your penis so blood can’t escape. By taking your thumb and forefinger, squeezing all the way around your penis, and sliding it forward slowly, the blood within your penis is forced forward into the Corpora Cavernosa and the Glans, also known as the head of the penis.

As a child (or while goofing off at work) you may have tied a rubber band to your finger and watched all the blood accumulate in the tip of the finger, turning it red or purple. The concept of Jelquing is basically the same. Blood is forced into the cell spaces inside your penis each time you slide your hand forward.

It sounds harsh, but unless you’re really causing yourself pain you won’t damage your penis in anyway. The penis is designed to hold large amounts of blood and you’re just going to be training it to hold a bit more than would normally be pumped into it.

Start with the hand that you normally use. We’ll use the right hand for this explanation. Begin by coating your hands and penis in a good amount of the lubricant of your choice. Baby oil, KY jelly, and Vaseline are all common lubricants that do a great job.

Make an “OK” sign with your thumb and forefinger around the base of your penis and then slowly slide it towards the head. Just as your right hand nears the head of your penis grasp the base of your penis with your other (left) hand as you release your right hand that has neared the head of the penis. Begin with the left hand just as you did with the right. This is almost a “hand over hand” of sorts. This gorges the cells with blood and, once they heal, they’ll be able to hold even more blood. Repeat this “hand over hand” method at a slow or relaxed pace in 1 to 3 second intervals each stroke. After really hitting the workout properly for at least 25-30 minutes your penis will look and hang quite large, a lot like a normal body part after an intense workout.

In the beginning when you first start the Jelquing exercises you may experience small red spots or light bruising on your penis. This is completely normal, it will subside within the first 10 days or so of continuous exercise. The reason this happens is because you are stretching the spaces that hold blood inside your penis, enabling them to hold more blood and grow larger. These spaces aren’t used to stretching out that far so there will be slight redness or spots in the first week or two. These spots will subside after the second week or so of exercise. To minimize any slight bruising or red spots start out the exercise gradually and slowly work up to where you should be. Properly warming up will also greatly reduce them. Remember, you’re not out to hurt yourself so take it slow at first and gradually work your way up in speed and pressure as you become more and more comfortable with the process.

The penis is not fully erect but that it does have a lot of blood in it. You should have around 3/4ths of an erection. This means that there is a significant amount of blood in the penis but that it’s not fully erect. It should be full, but not tight. This is important. If you have a limp penis and you’re simply stretching your penis using the “OK” form with your fingers you won’t see the benefits Jelquing will offer. If it’s too hard you won’t accomplish anything. It’s important to push blood forward and towards the head of the penis. Be gentle but use a bit of pressure.
